There’s something electric about a live event. The speakers. The stories. The atmosphere in the room. But you’re missing half the magic if your content isn’t being shared in real time.

That was the biggest takeaway from our experience at Rise Initiative’s Leadership Action 2025 event. My team and I were there to capture the action, amplify the message, and make sure every speaker, panellist and idea didn’t just resonate in the room but reached far beyond it.

Below are what I have learned from amplifying events in real time, helping to spread your message, and creating a movement far beyond the attendees in the room.

About Rise Initiative

Rise Initiative is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of people in the real estate industry.

Backed by a volunteer board that includes influential leaders like Nick West (Nelson Alexander), John Cunningham (Cunninghams Real Estate), David Bowie (MRI Software), Sadhana Smiles (REIP), Charlotte Pascoe (Stockdale & Leggo), Domonic Thompson (Macquarie Bank), and John Foong (Domain), Rise is focused on empowering professionals to thrive personally and professionally.

The initiative offers tools like the Real Care app and a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) funded by Domain.com.au. It also runs an Influencer Program that encourages thought leaders to speak at real estate industry gatherings (large or small) to share stories that inspire action and create change.

How to amplify your real estate event in real time

Inside the Leadership Action 2025 conference

This year’s Rise event, Leadership Action 2025, was held in Sydney over two days at Macquarie Bank’s offices in a purpose-built event space. The theme? Action. With a mission to move beyond awareness and into impact, every session was designed to ignite ideas and inspire attendees to lead with intention.

The external speaker line-up was nothing short of extraordinary:

  • Milo Wilkinson, Behavioural Scientist, spoke on The Psychology of Trust
  • John Brogden, President of LifeLine International and former NSW Premier, spoke on Rebuilding After Burnout
  • Ros Coffey, Macquarie Bank, spoke on Powershifts in Leadership
  • Steve Griffith, spoke on Success without Stress
  • Dr Kristy Goodwin, spoke on Performance in a Digital Age, exploring how tech can support (not drain) our human operating system
  • Dr Ben Hamer, Futurist, spoke on The Future of Leadership & Work for Gen Z and beyond
  • Phil Stenhouse OAM, shared his powerful journey building the Bridge Builders Youth Organisation

With each presentation came real stories, bold challenges and authentic insights all ripe for real-time amplification.

Real-time content isn’t a one-person job

Here’s the thing. You can’t do great real-time content as a solo act. While one person can live-post, take photos, and jot down speaker quotes, doing all three well at once is near impossible.

The smarter approach? Treat your social media team like a newsroom. You need:

  • A social content pro in the room taking notes, quotes and content.
  • An editor who turns those notes into polished social media captions.
  • A photographer capturing high-quality visuals.
  • A videographer capturing footage of all aspects of the event.
  • A remote support team to help upload, tag, and tweak posts as they go live.

You also need a content and social media amplification team that is experienced in working together. It’s preferential to hire all the resources you need through one marketing agency that specialises in real estate marketing and has the ability to bring the right mix of creative talent to amplify your event. Everyone can then be centrally coordinated.

How to amplify your real estate event in real time

Prepare before you post

Real-time content is only as good as your prep work. Before the event, gather every speaker’s name, photo, bio, social handles and preferred tags. Have draft captions ready to go.

Think of it like packing for a trip. If you’re scrambling to find someone’s title or how to spell their name mid-session, you’ve already missed the moment.

Prioritise platform-specific content

  • On Meta, portrait photo Stories perform best, especially when posted early in the day.
  • LinkedIn posts get more engagement when they start with a strong quote and include a single striking image.
  • Facebook Live works wonders, especially when your event has emotional depth or community spirit.

Hashtags matter (but only if they’re used well)

Choose one hashtag and make it known. Put it on the tables, slides, even the MC’s notes. Then encourage people to share from the event page, not just their own accounts.

This creates a ripple effect. It expands reach, builds your remarketing audience, and keeps your social tracking on point.

Don’t let your content disappear into the ether

After the event, your content still has work to do. Repost your best-performing stories. Turn reels into ads. Boost key speaker quotes to new audiences.

Paid promotion isn’t just a nice-to-have. It’s how you get real ROI from all that effort. Otherwise, you’re just relying on word-of-mouth in a very noisy digital world.

Real estate events deserve a professional content team

We’ve seen firsthand how much energy and effort go into real estate events. The line-up. The catering. The speaker’s gifts. But too often, the content gets left to chance.

Let’s change that.

If you’re planning a conference, awards night, training day or even an industry social, make sure your message doesn’t stop at the venue door.
